Kia ora tātou

Recently we welcomed a wonderful new addition to the City Campus, the Tūtahi Tonu wharenui in B113, which has officially re-opened and been gifted a new name, Ngā Tauira marae, by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. Previously located at Epsom Campus, the marae recognises the rich history of the Faculty of Education and Social Work and provides additional cultural spaces for teaching and learning and in supporting staff and students to come together. Find out more on our News pageshttps://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/news/2024/08/12/the-new-nga-tauira-marae.html.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Services) secondment The University is seeking an internal candidate for an eight-month secondment on the University’s Executive Committee (UEC) as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Services). This temporary role will oversee strategy across the Finance, Digital Services, Organisational Performance and Improvement, Planning & Information Office and Property Services divisions. It will allow the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Operations & Registrar to focus on leading several key strategic initiatives. For more details, please visit the internal vacancies Intranet pagehttps://www.staff.auckland.ac.nz/en/human-resources/introduction/recruitment_resources/internal_vacancies.html.

Collective bargaining Negotiations for the renewal of collective employment agreements for Academic, Professional and Security & Gardeners staff began last month. This week, the University presented its general revision pay offer. The University has prioritised a general revision offer that recognises continuing cost-of-living pressures. Further details of this offer and a full list of claims from the unions and University can be found on our Notice pageshttps://www.staff.auckland.ac.nz/en/news-events-and-notices/notices/notices-2024/quarter-3/bargaining-for-collective-agreements-2024.html. This page will be regularly updated as negotiations progress.

All-staff forum A reminder that the next all-staff forum, which is also the replacement online Town Hall, is taking place on Wednesday 28 August from 12-1pm.
