It’s been an incredibly inspiring and positive week with the excellence of our community recognised in multiple ways and a new partnership formalised.

QS subject rankings We have continued to perform strongly in the 2024 QS World University Subject Rankings, with ten subjects in the top 50 and 23 in the top 100. This is a significant achievement, and a testament to the commitment to research and teaching excellence that our staff embody. Thank you and well done. Researchers with global impact Last night the University held the The Hīkina kia Tutuki, Rise to the Challenge: Researchers with Global Impact event. This event recognises the achievement of our researchers who feature in this year’s Clarivate and Elsevier highly cited researcher rankings, and celebrates the global impact of their research and the benefits to society in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally. Māori and Pacific university entrance parity This morning we pledged our commitment to improving Māori and Pacific University Entrance (UE) pass rates by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with 12 Auckland schools. Through this partnership we have agreed to take action to increase success at a tertiary level to achieve UE parity for Māori and Pacific learners by 2030. Policy consultations Two draft policies are open for staff consultation until 19 April 2024.

A new Research Integrity Policyhttps://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/about-us/about-the-university/policy-hub/policy-development-review/documents-for-consultation/draft---research-integrity-policy.html has been drafted to replace the Research Code of Conduct and Staff Research Misconduct Policy. It sets out the University’s expectations for research integrity and the responsible conduct of research, including in new areas such as the use of artificial intelligence.
