The National Party has announced that List MP Claudette Hauiti will be its candidate for the Kelston electorate at the 2014 General Election.
“Kelston is a new seat at this election, and National is determined to run a strong campaign there,” said Northern Regional Chair Andrew Hunt.
“Claudette quickly proved herself to be an energetic MP when she entered Parliament last year. I’m confident she’ll use her experience to be a strong voice for the local communities in another strong, stable National-led Government.”
Ms Hauiti said it was a privilege to be chosen and that she looked forward to taking National’s plan for more jobs, better public services in health and education, and safer communities to the people of Kelston.
“John Key and National are delivering for Auckland families. The people of Kelston deserve a representative who understands their needs. I’ll be working hard to be that voice in National at this election so we can keep working for Kelston families.”
