Rangimarie Naida Glavish, Maori Party President, today announced that Susan Cullen (Ngati Maniapoto), a well-known educationalist and community development entrepreneur will represent the Maori Party as their candidate for Hauraki Waikato in the upcoming election.

“We are extremely proud that Susan will be a part of our team, and be representing the Maori Party in the Hauraki Waikato electorate.”

“She is a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and staunch Maori woman. Susan has been a strong advocate for Maori education, particularly focusing on access to education, and the provision of culturally attuned education options for a diverse range of New Zealanders.”

Tom Phillips, Maori Party Chair of Hauraki Waikato electorate said that Susan is well known in the Waikato and across New Zealand for developing educational programmes such as Mahi Ora and Lifeworks, and for her staunch advocacy for community transformation, and Whanau Ora.
