NCEA provisional results show more Pasifika students achieving
Maungakiekie MP, Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, welcomes the provisional NCEA results showing more Pasifika achievement.
“The provisional results show that 67.3 per cent of Pasifika students achieved NCEA level 2 last year, up nearly three per cent on 64.4 per cent in 2011,” says Mr Lotu-Iiga.
“The results also show an improvement in NCEA Level 1 with 60.6 per cent of Pasifika students achieving, up from 58.9 per cent in 2011.
“Although it is pleasing to see an increase in Pasifika achievement, there is still much more to be done.
“Our Government is committed to 85 per cent of all 18 year-olds achieving NCEA Level 2 or an equivalent qualification in 2017.
