UC Accommodation Student Village Community Quake Response**

UC Accommodation Student Village works in partnership with the University of Canterbury; it is managed by Campus Living Villages NZ Ltd.

“We have worked very hard to ensure our students are safe, secure and settled. We have worked with the University to provide back up to other staff and students. As the Village hasn’t incurred any damage we are now ready to make a wider offer to our community” said General Manager Darel Hall.

Places will be offered to people who meet University and Civil Defence criteria. For further information please contact Darel Hall on 027 363 1883.

UC Staff and Students**
Free accommodation for 50 UC approved displaced quake victims until Monday morning 20 September.

Non UC Staff and Students at Ilam Apartments
Free accommodation for 50 Civil Defence approved displaced quake victims until Monday morning 20 September.

Study
Some students who have lost study spaces may study at UC Accommodation Student Village.
**
Ilam Apartments – Post-grad students**
New Common Room – dedicated to Bangladeshi students
Old Common Room – 4 computers, space for 50 people studying

Sonoda – College of Education students
Hinoki – room for 70 students
Keyaki – 6 computers, room for 20 students

University Hall – Engineering students
Computer room – 10 computers
Library – 100 students
Popper – 60 students

All students need to report into the office of the site at which they wish to study – University Hall, Ilam or Sonoda

Students supplementing UC Security
Since Saturday University Hall students have been supplementing UC security. This continues today.
