University course gets people thinking
A University of Waikato Continuing Education course that encourages people to consider issues that affect the community, the nation and the world takes place from October 6.
Radical Rethink Required is a six-week course that aims to excite and challenge people with a range of issues from the global financial crisis to the environmental crisis.
Guest speakers include Chair of the Board of Sustainability Aotearoa New Zealand, Dr Wayne Cartwright, who will discuss becoming sustainable in times of change; Chair of Amnesty International, Dr Stefanie Rixecker, who will discuss transforming lives through human rights and former politician, Nandor Tanczos who will discuss ecology and economics.
The course costs $25 for the series or $5 per session ($2 for students with ID). It runs from 6.30pm-8.30pm every Tuesday beginning October 6 at the University of Waikato Hamilton campus in room AG30. Parking in Gate 8 on Hillcrest Rd.
