Union Economist as CTU Secretary
Helen Kelly, CTU President announced today that Peter Conway has been elected as CTU Secretary, replacing Carol Beaumont who is now a Member of Parliament.
Peter Conway has for the last 9 years been CTU Economist and more recently CTU Director of Policy.
Peter started in the trade union movement with the Clothing Workers' Union in Canterbury in 1977 and has numerous union roles since then representing workers in the retail, distribution and transport sectors.
Peter has an MA in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce degree, is currently a member of the NZTE Board and is Chair of Oxfam NZ.
