New ITS director for University of Waikato
The University of Waikato has appointed Kevin Adamson as Director of Information Technology Services.
Mr Adamson, who is currently IT Director at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT), will take up the position in April. He formerly held senior IT positions within the local government sector in Canterbury and Hawkes Bay.
He brings to the role more than 15 years’ management experience, incorporating team building, asset management, financial control, infrastructure design, strategic planning and dedication to customer service and support.
Mr Adamson will be responsible for planning and delivery of ICT services, and the development and implementation of the university’s ICT strategy.
The Head of Corporate Services, Mr Raymond McNickle, said he was delighted that Mr Adamson was joining the University.
“Kevin will be leading and supporting the effective use of information and communications technology in teaching, research and administration to meet the needs of staff and students in a 21st century university,” he said.
Mr Adamson has a Bachelor of Science degree and postgraduate Diploma in Science from the University of Otago, a Bachelor of Engineering (Agriculture) from Canterbury/Lincoln University and an MBA from Canterbury.
