Meeting to declare Zaoui spokesperson of students’
Students’ have called for a special general meeting of the Auckland University Students’ Association to declare Ahmed Zaoui the honorary Algerian spokesperson of the Students’ Association.
The meeting is to be held on Thursday the 7th at Midday in the Student quad.
“It is so important that students’ come to the meeting and decide on this important matter.” AUSA President Kate Sutton said “ Ahmed Zaoui and his human rights case have been widely discussed amongst the student population and now they have a chance to make a stand about his treatment.”
The famous Chris Knox has donated his time to play for students in the quad as 200 people are required to gain quorum for the meeting.
“I think that this is an incredible opportunity to gauge student opinion on this important matter, don’t miss it!” Sutton ended.
