Green MPs at Waitangi

Green MPs Jeanette Fitzsimons, Rod Donald, Sue Bradford, Metiria Turei and Nandor Tanczos will be paying their respects on Te Tii Marae tomorrow [Thursday 5th February] to honour Waitangi Day adjacent to where the Treaty was signed.

Three Green MPs, local MP Sue Bradford, Metiria Turei and Nandor Tanczos will join Te Rarawa's blessing of the pouwhenua at Ninety Mile Beach at 5am and the "linking of the hands" in the afternoon.

Jeanette Fitzsimons will be in Oamaru on Waitangi Day, at the invitation of the Waitaha people of the Waitaki Valley, to join in a celebration of the threatened Waitaki River, beginning on the SH1 bridge at 8am.

Rod Donald will be in Canterbury on Waitangi Day for comemorations at Ngai Tahu's Onuku Marae and Okains Bay.

Sue Kedgley will attend the Governor General's garden party in Wellington on Waitangi Day.

Keith Locke will attend the Toi Manukau and Manukau City Council celebration of Waitangi Day at Hayman Park, Manukau starting at 10am.
